18. Finding Your Keywords and Putting Your SEO Into Action
Wednesday Jan 09, 2019
Wednesday Jan 09, 2019
In today's episode I talk with Mike Michaelson of LegitClick Media and we are talking SEO. If you are like many people, including me, you may be cringing at the thought. But stop! This is important and I believe in your ability to understand Search Engine Optimization. Mike and I give you the inside scoop on why SEO is SUPER important even in 2019. It is THE best way for you to rank higher in google and show up in social media searches. (Yes that's totally a thing!)
You know the best place to hide a dead body right? On the second page of Google. Corny humor aside, the reality is if you are creating content, written, video or even audio if you aren't utilizing SEO in your great content, no one (or hardly anyone) is seeing it. You need some serious tips from an expert on how to rank and stay top of mind. Mike generously shares his expertise today.
In 2018, Hubspot surveyed companies about their number one marketing priority and guess what came in 1st place - you guessed it SEO. Just a heads up there are paid versions of SEO where you pay someone to help you rank higher, but we are talking about how to rank your own content organically (read free) so that more eyeballs see what you have poured your heart and soul into.
Of course these branding components apply:
Know who your audience is
Know what they are searching for - which key phrases, terms, words
Offer a unique solution to their problem once they arrive otherwise they are outta there faster than a losing super bowl team
Because I believe this is SO important, I've created a resource cheat sheet for you with some Free SEO tools to get you started. You can find that cheat sheet here.

17. Planning Your 2019 With Intention & Strategy
Wednesday Jan 02, 2019
Wednesday Jan 02, 2019
In today's episode I share my simple process to plan and reach your goals quicker and easier in 2019. This system takes into consideration not only the practical alignment of creating your goals (you already know all of those systems) but it also includes the evaluation of where you are currently, what went right, what went wrong and most importantly how can you get more of the good stuff in your business.
I walk you step by step through this simple process so that you can start out the New Year with a bang and set the intention for your goals so that you can get where you want to be. It will also help you eliminate some of the head trash we tend to carry around so that you can keep moving forward and leave the past in the past where it belongs.
It's nearly impossible to set your goals without a system and even harder to reach them without a process. Which is why, I've also created a FREE download for you of the entire process. You can get that download here.

This week's episode covers legal ease in a down to earth manner. My guest Aiden Durham talks about the intricacies of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) Compliance and why it matters even if you don't have customers in the European Union. GDPR is a requirement (currently active in the European Union, but also some other states in the US-think California and Vermont. Data Protection is big business (think Facebook data breach last year) and several other states are already taking additional action on protecting consumer data. I've linked to the state laws passed in 2018.
Aiden covers the essentials for your website and your business to ensure that you are compliant, including Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and SSL for your website. Fun fact, did you know that if you don't meet Google's security requirements with an SSL your website is ranking lower. Google also isn't messing around with security measures. Tune into this week's episode to get up to speed and ahead of the curve when it comes to online security for your business.

10. Intentional Goal Planning For An Awesome 2019 With George Carroll
Wednesday Nov 14, 2018
Wednesday Nov 14, 2018
This week's episode is part of a series to get your 2019 started with a bang. My guest George Carroll talks to us about intentionally focusing on our goals and marking out our SMART plan to achieve what we want to achieve today, tomorrow and next year. George's enlightening look at how to achieve your greatest desires mixed with his humor is a great combination. Enjoy this week's episode and don't forget to grab the "The Wheel of Life Exercise" to help you get focused on what you want to achieve this year.
[18:25] "If we can consistently focus on what we desire, our brain will help us find the resources to bridge that gap from where we are to where that goal is. So if I can offer one tool that will enhance your goal achievement, a potential at least tenfold is just get clear on your goals and write them down once a day."
[26:37] It's just simply about recognizing like step one, recognizing, okay, that's my brain, just trying to keep safe, and then taking a couple of deep breaths in because when you're in a stress response, like your creativity, your genius is all shut off. So I get back into getting out of my Mengele, getting out of the stress response and getting back into my creative mindset, getting back into my genius mindset so that I can think clearly on it.
[31:16] "NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) can really help eliminate fears and phobias in a matter of a few hours if one is ready for change."

9. Finding Your Ideal Client Through Speaking With Phylecia Jones
Wednesday Nov 07, 2018
Wednesday Nov 07, 2018
Speaking from the stage can be downright terrifying to some people. It is, in fact, the #1 fear in the world. However, if you can get in front of the right audiences and on the right stages, you can grow your audience, increase your authority and even build your business faster. This week I sit down with Phylecia Jones of Keeping Up With Mrs. Jones and she dishes the inside secrets of how she's getting on so many well-known stages and even landed a TED Talk. Tune in to get the scoop on how to feed your business through speaking.
Don't Miss These Tidbits:
[08:06] "You know, I think speaking chose me. I try to avoid speaking. It really is. I'm an introvert at heart. I have a degree in computer science and I was a lab rat while I worked for the navy and I was good as a lab rat in, but I did have a secret side. I was a professional cheerleader, so I'm a little oddball at times, but I went through a coaching program and one of the modules was about growing your business through marketing and speaking was one of them. And I remember I just kept flipping past that little section like, yeah, I don't want to do this."
[10:25] "I always say, just get the ovaries to ask. I'm just asked to, hey, can I get on your stage, can I, can I share my story or can I share some tips that have worked with me?"
[16:13] "my husband gave me an idea while we were walking the dog and, and he's a Gamer. He watches people playing video games on twitch and if you don't know what twitches those search it, it is like a nerd haven for all gamers. We don't adult very well in our house, but he was telling me that in order for those, those guys that he watched to grow their subscription base in there, watch your basis that they live stream from five to eight hours every day up to two years. And I was like, Whoa, you know, and my husband, he watches him. He's watching them right now. And, and I was like, I don't know if I can live stream that many hours."
[19:07] "But it really is a weird thing when you go to a conference. They were like, Hey, I've been watching you every morning. It's like, okay, that's cool and creepy at the same time. Who are you?"
